Complete recovery from addiction is about eliminating sources of toxic stress in our lifestyle and using the best detox plan. Narconon New Life Detoxification Program comprehensiviely addresses all issues of toxic stress, to bring addicts help for new life and happiness.i

People in need of addict help are usually looking for the best detox plan to help with addiction recovery. There is a complete divide between drug detox plans that place reliance on the use of substitute drugs and those that are drug free.

The side effects of drug withdrawal can place your health at risk, particularly when withdrawing from narcotics that have an opioid, depressant effect. These side effects being painful, many people assume that the proper way to go is to use a prescription drug regime to recover from drug use.

The truth is that in our bodies today there is a vast amount of toxic residues, not only from the drugs that we might be using, but from the general environment. All foreign substances in the body cause a stress reaction by which the excretory system, and our immune system try to clear the body of their toxic presence. Both illicit and prescription drugs are no exception.

People need to make a decision about the best detox plan in the context of their expectations about what addiction recovery means. Why be content with continued cravings and triggers, using substitute drugs on prescription and having feelings of general depression when so many people have found complete addiction recovery, using the Narconon drug free detox plan.

Toxic stress comes not only from chemical sources, but from emotional pressures upon us. When we also have chemical pollution in our bodies, we suffer disorders and illness, a simple result of toxic overload.

Toxic overload can be avoided by a rigorous detox plan. Narconon, this month celebrating 45 successful years in the field of addiction recovery, offers the New Life Detoxification Program.*

Residential detox plans offer the experience of a wholly contained environment that is natural, and drug free. In the Narconon comprehensive detox program both drugs and chemical pollutants are gently, and safely removed from the body.

Supplements are also provided, together with nutritious food to restore and regenerate life, energy and vitality. Drugs and pollutants drain energy and vitality, bring on morbid conditions, premature aging and death.

A Norwegian study of British lifestyles discovered that premature aging and death have 4 main indicators – poor food, lack of exercise, smoking tobacco and excessive alcohol drinking. All lead to toxic overload and are easily remedied by addict help in the form of an effective lifestyle change, using the best detox plan to help regain natural good health.

Pure water is a natural means of flushing toxins from the body, that works well with Narconon low temperature sauna. Fat soluble toxins are best removed by fat burning, AMA approved, high dose niacin, and a moderate exercise regime. The body recovers and restores a natural balance when good sleep patterns are encouraged.

Basically, the best detox plan simply restores a sustainable and completely natural, balanced way of being.

People are often very conscious of environmental pollution when thinking of babies and young children. A best detox plan for kids is to start with detox for the parents, before a child is conceived, and go on to provide a healthy environment for the developing toddler. The fitter a young person is, in their body and in their mind, the less will be the attraction of drugs over more healthy options.

Nature’s way is survival of the fittest, and the reality today is that many are barely surviving emotionally and physically compared with a free way of life, unburdened by toxic overload, and emotional pressures.

A best detox plan forms part of a lifestyle change – a comprehensive lifestyle detox gives addict help and hope.

Narconon worldwide addiction recovery programs maintain a commitment to true addict help and complete addiction recovery, in the tradition of its founder, William Benitez, in 1966. 45 years on - and Narconon is still going from strength to strength.

Narconon is a worldwide group with alcohol and drug addiction recovery centers worldwide, providing addict help. On the 19 February 2011, Narconon has been providing effective, comprehensive addict help for just on 45 years – and looks like staying on for as long as takes for people to get the message – simply say NO to drugs.

Narconon was founded by a prisoner, in the Arizona jail at the time of him serving a 15 year sentence for narcotics possession. A habitual offender who had graduated from pot smoking at 13 to opium injection at 15, William Benitez was considered a lost cause, even to himself. Before the judge, when being sentenced, Benitez said how he still wanted to reform – the judge responded by giving him a 15/16 year term, instead of a 15 year/life. This was back in1964, and the prevailing opinion was that the best thing that could be done with people like Benitez was to use a gun and put them of their misery.

Despair and hope go hand in hand on the road of life, and William Benitez came by a book written by L Ron Hubbard that made him sit up and dream of release – from addiction, and prison and drugs. Avidly he read many more L Ron Hubbard books, and created right there in the jail a new vision for himself. A new constructive and positive attitude enabled William Benitez to turn his back on drugs completely and reclaim his life. He reasoned that if L Ron Hubbard’s methods worked for him, they would for other addicts.

In February 1966, Benitez obtained permission from the prison authorities to deliver his Narconon program to some of the addicted prisoners. 20 prisoners attended the first session – by the year 2011, many thousands have attended Narconon programs at about 150 Narconon Centers in over 50 different countries. A sturdy oak has grown, from Benitez’s little acorn, providing worldwide addict help.

Having served around 18 months of his 15/16 year term, Benitez discovered that he had been wrongly sentenced in law, and could easily apply to have his sentence overturned, bringing immediate release. The last thing Benitez wanted was to be staying on, in prison.

However, the Narconon program (that means NARCOtics – NONe!) was still in its infancy. Prisoners other than addicts were clamoring to come on the Narconon program – they had heard and could see that it worked, not only for drug addicts, but for everyone with a need to get their life sorted out.

Drug addicts and dealers are no different to most when it comes to doing time – Paris Hilton, Bruno Mars, Lindsay Lohan, and Purdue Pharma directors are all people involved with drugs, who when in trouble with the law, have hired lawyers to work out plea bargains for them that don’t include the risk of jail.

William Benitez had the freedom to walk, just by filing the papers. William Benitez made drug law history when involved with his Narconon program. He needed more time to make sure that the program got off to a good start – so he resolved the problem in a novel way – he plea bargained for more time!

Benitez’s sentence was reduced from 15/16 to 4/6 years. As he had already served around 18 months – he would be free in 16 months – long enough he hoped to get the Narconon program fully started.

Staying on in prison, he says, was the hardest thing ever – staying on to give addict help to the inmates.

Narconon maintains this tradition of commitment – staying on over 45 years to bring the world true addict help.

Fotune and fame are not enough to bring about inner contentment. When people feel "empty" and turn to drug use, they need comprehensive drug rehab that provides effective addict help.

Fortune, fame, riches, applause – if you think these would be enough to ensure happiness and contentment, then you would be wrong. For all the benefits of glory, and material wealth, what do people do when the world is not enough. The sad fact is that many who have, acquire or achieve positions of fortune and fame, are deeply unhappy inside themselves, turn to drugs and need addict help.

Many of us born to a normal mediocrity, in which we don’t have all that we want, but at least have all that we need, can easily become dissatisfied and find ourselves looking for something more to satisfy vague feelings of discontent. What is that elusive something that will make a glorious summer of the winter of our discontent.

For some it is in a relationship that we find the answer to our needs – happy the day when we meet and find our Prince Charming or the Lady of our Dreams. Very often relationships play second fiddle at best when a person’s innermost needs drive them along the road to success. People driven to succeed very rarely stop to think exactly why they do it – success sits before them on the road ahead, like the Holy Grail.

Achieving success is a personal goal, and often based upon unconscious motives. Whatever the pathway in life we choose – one thing is guaranteed – it’s the best way we know at that time to satisfy our innermost needs. When people appear to be in trouble, and not coping very well, it is a symptom of there being a gap between a person’s real needs, and the life that they have constructed around them. People who find that drugs will do to bridge the reality gap are in need of addict help.

Celebrities in particular suffer from public scrutiny, and much misunderstanding. Although they might appear to have the world at their feet, they have never confronted, until it’s too late, the demons that have driven them there. Such people need addict help – yet to fade into obscurity is their biggest fear.

Whenever we feel driven to engage in extreme behavior, such as drug use that is risky and damaging, we need to find out what it is in our life that is putting us into such a cornered position – and make a determined effort to sort our emotions out, before our conflicts destroy us. Some people caught up in a lifestyle that doesn’t answer to their needs would like nothing better than release from the treadmill – but people who have a dependency upon them simply won’t let them go.

In truth no one else can make us feel, or do anything at all – all that we do is what we choose, out of available options. Opening up to our emotions can be like opening up Pandora’s box. But no matter what comes out, for all of us, there remains a jewel of hope.

It is important if we reach a crisis point in our lives to get effective help. Band aids and patches on our emotional feelings are about maintaining position, not about contentment and good health. Drug rehab is never effective unless it is fully comprehensive and able to help with emotional feelings.

We can consult lists when we need to give something to someone who has “everything”. When the world is not enough and people feel empty inside – the best gift you can give is the gift of life and get them into effective drug rehab.

Children with traumatic experience very often need assistance to help them overcome it. Specialists in trauma recovery define traumatic experience to be something physical – such as being in a car accident, nearly drowned, or lost, alone in the woods. People can readily relate to the experience of children who have lost parents or siblings due to natural disasters, such as cyclones, hurricanes, fires or floods. Trauma to kids has to be something that you can see.

Following Cyclone Yasi, in Queensland, Professor Ronan of Central Queensland University, points out, in relation to physical trauma that “kids are the most vulnerable demographic group, they view the world differently to adults.” “Some will have trouble putting their emotions into words, and are likely to express their anxiety by misbehaving” When kids turn to drugs, they will need addict help

Professor Ronan goes on to say that reassurance, comfort and support of children with traumatic experience is “first aid” – counseling can come later.Delving too deep into traumatic experience, too soon, can easily re-traumatize children.

Where modern medicine and counseling fall short is when they fail to help children with traumatic experience that has no visible, physical cause. Many incidents of emotional trauma happen to children that go unrecognized. If kids turn to drug use, they will need addict help for both.

Some children who live in difficult homes and environments suffer extreme fear, apprehension, anxiety, loss and abandonment. Because their life experience appears to be within the “normal” range, their experience is not called traumatic, just something that they are expected to “cope” with.

It touches very much on societies “sacred cows” if people suggest that children could be exposed to trauma in the family – unless it is a sexual or other assault that yields physical evidence.

Children with traumatic experience include those intimidated, who feel threatened by “emotional” reactions. Parents and others who control by fear, withdrawal of love and affection, who control a child by directing their lives, allowing them no freedom. Others are left abandoned, to grow up without proper support. Some kids are plainly confused and contorted as to how to deal with conflicted parental messages. Such children who exhibit acting out and playing up behaviors don’t get the ready support that they would do if a cyclone had caused their trauma. Children whose homes are an emotional maelstrom, will be diagnosed with autism, ADHD and other affective disorders – and labeled as mentally ill.

If not given prescription medication, many affected children, in search of emotional relief, will self medicate with substances, find drugs in the home or on the street, or drink alcohol.

Alone and without guidance, children with unrecognized traumatic experience will simply fall prey to risky behaviors and inevitably drug use.

Children with traumatic experience due to natural, physical causes will suffer more if they already have been exposed to childhood emotional trauma. It is not enough to try and counsel children for a specific event.

To re-process and fully recover from trauma needs a comprehensive approach that deals with the child as an individual – not just the victim of some specific, observable “trauma”.

Children with traumatic experience, and related substance abuse, are in need of a thorough program that supports all of their nurturing needs, in a caring, comprehensive manner. Treating and medicating presenting symptoms is simply not enough, to help children to become emotionally free and recovered. Comprehensive alcohol and drug rehab methods can provide addict help for children with traumatic experience to build a new, and healthy way of life.

People find it hard to say they are sorry, particularly in the area of substance abuse and addiction. An apology that leads to forgiveness is empowering for both parties.

Being and saying sorry can be a difficult thing to do, particularly where issues of alcohol, drugs and substance abuse is involved. There is often a lot of pain around the problem of addiction – arguments, stress, wounded feelings and emotional tension. People who have run off on their problems, turned to drug use instead, can often need addict help to restore broken relationships, and to create better relationships in the future.

If an addict has hurt someone, then they should be encouraged to say sorry. Making an apology is very therapeutic for the one who makes the apology –and also for the recipient. Provided an apology is genuine and authentic – it makes those involved feel good.

Being sorry is one thing – saying it is another. Sometimes people find it extremely hard to apologize to another. Finding the right words to say is usually not too hard if the good intention is there. Most people are happy to forgive, if given a proper apology.

Sometimes in the history of an addict there is much hurt and pain – addicts have often been abused by others, as children. Instead of an apology, and forgiveness – addicts have often taken much of the blame for abusive situations and suffer low self esteem because of it.

An apology by those who were abusive would often be helpful in addiction recovery. However apologies might not be forthcoming. Addict help in addiction recovery can help an addict to see that he was not the cause of abuse against him – nor should he feel guilty or ashamed. With addict help to understand the dynamics of abusive relationships – an addict can be enabled to feel better about himself – and feel absolved from guilt. With comprehension and understanding, an addict won’t need a direct apology from the abuser in order to feel free of the burden. Getting addict help means resolution – and to move on with their life.

When the opportunity arises to make an apology – and genuinely say I’m sorry – people sometimes don’t want to, or don’t know how to.

Making an apology can make us feel vulnerable. However, everyone should make the effort to apologize if they can – it clears the air, makes us feel good, and releases emotional pain.

If there was a financial cost involved in the wrongdoing, people have to decide – whether to write it off as resolved by the apology , or repayment arrangements can be made. Restitution might be necessary to complete the process of apology and forgiveness.

Sometimes when serious injury has come about by criminal intent, an apology and forgiveness is encouraged between the offender and the victim. Such is the healing power of an apology and forgiveness that people can feel absolved of resentment or continued blame – and free to move on from their pain. Incest survivors, those injured by people driving dui, workplace conflicts and harassments, neighborly disputes can all be resolved and healed by an apology and forgiveness. Communities can be helped and strengthened by the resolution of disagreements when people admit to wrongdoing, offer an apology and are forgiven.

Holding onto resentment and anger is not a healthy option – situations unresolved can lead to distress and disorder in the body. People only prolong, and intensify their suffering when they refuse to negotiate and find terms of resolution. Understanding the point of view of others always helps – it might not bring agreement but at least a resolution.

If addiction is causing feelings of guilt or shame – consider being and saying sorry – and get addict help.

Comprehensive alcohol and drug addiction recovery centers offer drug free rehab and full addiction recovery. Being positive throughout enhances the experience and helps to enable recovery.

Being positive about the prospect of a successful addiction recovery starts with a decision to use a comprehensive addiction recovery facility. A comprehensive alcohol and drug addiction recovery center provides ample scope for anyone to get addict help – knowing that they will be supported, every step of the way. An addiction recovery program without the addict is like the sound of one hand clapping.

Engage as fully as you can with everything on offer when you use an all inclusive comprehensive drug recovery program. Sometimes there might seem to be no reason, why certain things are done, or done in a special way. Part of the wide ranging benefits of comprehensive drug recovery programs is that you can learn to trust and see unfold a plan that includes everything you need in the way of addict help.

Being positive means allowing emotions to flow – being your authentic self with no need of any pretense. Drug withdrawal can cause pain – but it is the pain of tension relief – it will pass in time, and on the other side you will feel better – perhaps better than ever before.

Comprehensive addiction recovery is conducted with compassion and understanding – people who comprehend your pain, know what you are going through, are there to help you through. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and the journey can be so much smoother when you chose an all inclusive comprehensive addiction recovery program.

Many people with addiction suffer from related symptoms and disorders – a comprehensive drug recovery program can incorporate all that you need to achieve full recovery from related symptoms and stress. In a completely drug free regime your mind and body can relax. Get back feelings of being in control and continue with being positive – to enhance your addiction recovery.

Being positive means not giving in to you fears and worries – a comprehensive drug recovery program will provide you with methods that enable you to be and feel more positive about yourself. What provides addict help for sure is when an addict feels understood and listened to, and valued for himself.

Comprehensive drug recovery programs are non-judgmental and supportive – people can take their time to deal with issues that need to be sorted, things that they need to work out. Comprehensive addiction recovery programs are enlightening, inspiring – take all that you need from the abundance that is within comprehensive drug recovery programs, and keep on being positive.

Getting to yes : full addiction recovery won’t happen overnight, or if you don’t do the work. Every day brings positive gains with comprehensive drug recovery methods.

Comprehensive drug recovery programs have synergy, a natural energy field of their own that helps you to stay being positive, even when you feel rough. Energy levels rise naturally the more you are free of drugs. Natural supplements and natural ways are the secret of success with comprehensive addiction recovery programs for alcohol and all kinds of drug and substance abuse.

When you want to fully recover, from addiction to drugs – being positive means selecting an addiction recovery program that is fully comprehensive – the best you can get in addict help and your best insurance against relapse.

Addiction triggers are not our emotional feelings, but the circumstances that trigger them. Addiction recovery is possible, using holistic methods that enable us to get to the root of, and resolve our emotional problems.

The compulsive nature of addiction triggers needs to be understood if addict help is to be effective and bring about addiction recovery. When people have an addiction, and feel the need to use, it is in response to a call from the body and mind, expressed as feelings of pain and tension – in search of relief and release. The pain and the tension that the addict feels are not addiction triggers, the pain and the tension are merely symptoms of whatever it is that is pushing the addict’s buttons.

Feelings of tension and stress don’t just suddenly rise up in the body – there is always a reason. Something in the mind, the memory, a current life situation, or disorder in the body are the addiction triggers. Addiction triggers are sensory inputs that we have a negative response to.

When we react in a negative way to the stimulus to our senses, this creates feelings of pain and tension. The truth is that no one and nothing ever causes us pain – we cause our pain when we respond to life events in a negative way. Our capacity to respond to whatever life throws us, in a positive and optimistic way depends very much upon our expectations and previous experience of successes in overcoming life’s hurdles.

When faced with addiction triggers, an addict immediately feels depressed or anxious – perhaps sad, ashamed or guilty – that is the way that he has learned to respond to those particular triggers. When the addict finds that substance use takes away these negative feelings, – well, hey, why suffer these negative feelings when substances are available to take away your pain. Once we start to use a substance to mask our negative feelings – we are setting ourselves up for addiction, an endless cycle of negative feelings, self medicated by drug use.

Addict help and intervention needs to break the connection that has been created, in the addict’s mind between feelings of stress and tension, in response to addiction triggers, and using drugs for relief.

The difference between real addict help that is provided by holistic methods and mainstream treatment methods is the level at which addict help for addiction triggers and addiction recovery is given.

Methods that only deal with the symptoms of addiction see only stress and reactive drug use. Holistic methods see that the stress can be avoided by developing better strategies to resolve emotional conflicts that feelings of stress involve.

When using natural holistic methods, in a way, magic happens – resolve the basic emotional conflicts that trigger intense negative emotions, and you have, as if by magic, resolved the addiction triggers. No more triggers, no more addiction response – this is addiction recovery.

People simply fail to see that spending a lifetime evading and trying to avoid addiction triggers does not need to happen. Take away the power that emotional triggers have over you – and addiction recovery happens.

Obviously when trying to resolve your emotional issues, you will need to think about them.
Panic attacks are a response to memories from the past that arouse our fear, triggered in the present. Holistic addict help can help overcome related substance abuse, and resolve our emotional conflicts.

People need addict help for panic attacks if they have turned to substance abuse as a treatment for the symptoms. Few people have escaped feelings of anxiety in situations that are challenging, such as make a speech at a wedding, or when awaiting a new baby. Panic attacks happen when people react with more than usual anxiety in response to life situations that most of us think of as normal. Panic attacks are related to social anxiety, social phobias and are based on fear. Addict help is available for related substance abuse, or prescription medication.

When people have a panic attack and find that their heart is pounding, their head feels light, and that they cannot breathe – this contributes to feelings of anxiety – people can be fearful that they will die.

Understanding the causes of panic attack symptoms can bring much relief to sufferers – the symptoms of a panic attack are rarely, if ever fatal – it just feels like impending doom. In modern times anxiety provoking situations are not as clear cut as in nature, where we simply fight or flee.

Extreme anxiety and a panic attack can be provoked in a social setting where there is no outlet for all the energy created by the body to physically deal with the stress. Muscles feel tight because they are waiting to be put into action, the heart is pounding, blood pressure rises – unless we can control the reaction, we will want to run off and escape the unbearable tension created by a panic attack.

Panic attacks don’t just happen – there is something in the social setting, something that we are aware of that is triggering feelings and memories that we have. Panic attacks in elevators happen because we feel enclosed. Other people panic in open spaces and long for the safety of enclosure. It all depends on the traumatic experiences that we have had in the past as to what will bring on a panic attack for us, as compared with someone else.

Treatment for panic attacks is calming reassurance – and the management of symptoms. Sitting down and taking deep breaths, drinking tea or a glass of cold water can help – but above all reassurance.

Many people with a history of having panic attacks tend to avoid anxiety provoking situations, but that can be very limiting to your life. Alternatively, people take medications, such as sedatives or antidepressants. Until you resolve the emotional triggers that lead to your panic attacks – becoming dependent on the drugs for relief is inevitable – and totally unnecessary. Try holistic addict help.

Holistic methods of counseling, which are totally drug free, enable you to examine and understand where your panic attacks are coming from. Performance anxiety is normal, even regular speakers might feel nervous before the event. However, when panic attacks keep us in the home, afraid to venture out, we need to find what it is in our memory that is causing us so much fear.

People will generally find that with holistic addict help it will be easy to locate the origins of our stress. Many will be able to remember a traumatic event, or perhaps a difficult childhood that has left us with unresolved anxieties. Holistic addict help allows us to release the hold that past events have over us, and allows us to become open to a more positive way of living.

If panic attacks and the symptoms are making your life restricted, the best treatment is holistic addict help, resolving emotional issues – paving the way to positive change.

People addicted to Oxycontin that find the new gel capsules ineffectual to get their former "high" and effective pain relief often turn to heroin. Holistic help for full recovery from all addictive drug use can also bring holistic pain relief.

Getting help for Oxycontin addiction means getting holistic addict help, not using heroin as a cure for symptoms of pain and withdrawal. Following a 2007 settlement in which Purdue Pharma settled criminal and civil charges of misleading the public as to the addictive properties of Oxycontin, with the payment of a fine of $634.5 million, Oxycontin is still on the market.

In early 2010, the packaging of Oxycontin was changed in an attempt to make this “slow release” pain relief drug actually function as described. The current gel capsule has had a mixed response. Genuine users of Oxycontin for actual pain relief complain that this new formula does not give them the “buzz” or the relief from pain that it used to. It does not seem to occur to these people that they are now oxycodone addicts in withdrawal.

As previously, illicit Oxycontin users have applied themselves to the task of extracting the maximum hit from a capsule, without having to acquire any more, by the simple means of chopping them into smaller pieces, sometimes grating them, and then using. Asking whether the new Oxycontin is less addictive or more tamperproof would seem to be an idle question, left for more scientific testing by Purdue Pharma over the coming years.

Doctors now run shy of prescribing more Oxycontin to their patients for fear of negligence claims and professional liability. This leaves Oxycontin users somewhat in the lurch. Some people have been happily increasing their doses as needed for many years, despite the fact that Oxycontin can be fatal if prescribed to anyone but a hardened user in doses exceeding 40mg. In Canada, standard doses of Oxycontin range from 10mg to 80mg – it is possible to have a fatal reaction from a single Oxycontin pill.

Tracking over prescription does not help genuine Oxycontin users who are caught in a mix of drug withdrawal and their original pain. Oxycontin users really need complete detoxification and alternative addict help to assist them with recovery from their drug addiction and their pain.

People enmeshed in the stress of pain, and our endemic drug culture rarely think outside the square, and consider holistic alternatives. Part of the reason for the recent widespread increase in heroin use, particularly by youth in the suburbs, is that dissatisfied Oxycontin users have now come into the heroin market.

Heroin is cheaper that prescription drugs, and more readily available. Vast amounts of heroin of dubious quality arrive into North America from the poppy fields of Afghanistan virtually every day.

People see heroin as providing relief, a cure for frustrated Oxycontin addiction. People are turning to heroin and other street drugs of the MDMA variety both to relieve their pain and get high. Many users of Oxycontin, who use it for chronic pain relief, blame the addicts for causing the situation in which attempts have been made to “water down” the impact of Oxycontin in the bloodstream.

The truth is that all Oxycontin users who are now complaining, have by definition, been themselves suffering from Oxycontin addiction, over the years, although they did not know it.

The best thing that anyone in pain can do, particularly if using codeine, oxycodone or morphine, is to get holistic addict help to both overcome their addiction and get natural, drug free pain relief using holistic methods. Recovery from Oxycontin addiction is possible using holistic addict help – don’t try to use heroin as a cure for your pain and Oxycontin addiction.

Living with uncertainty can make people feel anxious, depressed and fearful, making them turn to the use of psychactive drugs. Facing an uncertain future is possible with holistic addict help, resolving anxiety and depression, and bringing full recovery from addiction to psychoactive drugs.

Nothing is more depressing than living with uncertainty about important issues in life. An inability to tolerate feelings of anxiety, fear and depression arising from uncertainty about the future very often makes people opt for an instant solution, bring about a speedy resolution. Whether the outcome chosen is the best option in the longer term is not the main issue – immediate freedom from stress, and the painful emotions that it brings, is seen as the priority. Using drugs to alleviate stress makes you likely to be in need of future addict help.

Substance use and abuse is often chosen as a means to put an end to the painful feelings caused by fundamental insecurity in our life. Very often prescription medications are handed out, knowing that they will not cure causes of anxiety, only bring relief. A recent study from France reveals that prescription drugs are implicated in around 3% of drug related motor vehicle accidents. When prescription drugs come with warnings about driving or handling machinery – it suggests that they might also interfere with other decision making processes in our lives, perhaps are something to be avoided.

All pain in the body and mental tension is a sign that something is out of order. Often it is our lifestyle that is causing symptoms of distress.

Locked into situations that it is beyond our power to change, we often decide life would be easier if we could simply get rid of our stressful feelings. The quickest way to change our feelings is to take psychoactive drugs.

Holistic methods for recovery from dependence upon and addiction to psychoactive drugs mean looking objectively at our lifestyle, rather than simply trying to get rid of symptoms of stress. The reality is that we all have to face some uncertainty in our lives. It is simply not to be human to have an entirely predictable life. People in good health, with an optimistic view not only see uncertainty as manageable, they find it stimulating.

The threat of job loss is not overwhelming when there are other options on offer, waiting for exam results is not as tense when you have contingency plans in place. The impact of uncertainty can be minimized if we don’t make particular outcomes the focus of our life. In accepting the possibility that outcomes and plans might fail, we will not become overly stressed or depressed if we keep ourselves open to change.

The downside of using psychoactive drugs to take away our pain is that we might then “feel” no need of change.

Addict help that relieves symptoms without taking action to resolve distress can maintain lifestyles that are toxic and unhealthy, we do not “mind” our situation because by taking drugs we are no longer emotionally “in touch” with it.

Holistic addict help for stress relief provides support to help us deal with our emotions. Sometimes it is better to give up the past, and face uncertainty than to maintain unhealthy lifestyle patterns. Often it is a fear of uncertainty that keeps us bound to established ways. Freedom is not simply a matter of opening the cage door.

Fear and anxiety keeps us locked in, although the door is open.

Giving up drug use and facing an uncertain future is possible – it can be done with holistic addict help, using drug free detox methods and emotionally supportive holistic counseling – with a 70% or better achievable success rate.
