Some drugs lend themselves to addiction much more quickly than others. Sometimes in the beginning, the signs are small and barely noticeable. This is especially true when the addict cannot get any drugs.

There may be weight gain or weight loss depending on the drug. Also, a change in energy may be noticed. A drug addict will want their drug of choice as soon as they wake up. That is why they often have a drug kit containing the supplies they need and the drug, right next to their bed. Some may wear inappropriate clothing, such as long sleeves in the warmer months. Perhaps there will be more auto accidents or more clumsiness than there were before.
