You finally think “maybe I do have a drug addiction but how do I get help?”
It has finally happened. You had another rough night, ran out and got a bag and got your fix so you could cope with the shadows and the thoughts and the stress of whatever it is you face in your life. Now you are begging your body to get up, get ready and go to work.
You feel isolated, confused and ashamed. Everyone at work seems to have it together, they talk about the wonderful Thanksgiving they just had with their families, the great purchases they got Black Friday, how their college kids looked when they came in. You feel alone and like no one would understand. You may be surprised just how many people do understand, including some of your co-workers.
Be the warrior we know you are, pick up the phone and get help today!
Go to the phone book or even better, look over there at that number in the corner of this page. See that phone number? It is a helpline and it is telling you without words that there is help, there are people who understand and there is HOPE.
* Yes, you have questions swirling around in your head.
You have doubts. These are coming from fear and embarrassment but truthfully, you do not need to feel either those emotions. What you are going through was not some horrible stunt invented by you. It is a drug addiction and it affects people from every walk of life; your neighbour down the street, the wife and mother six pews over, the postman, several of the executives in that fancy oil and gas building where you make your deliveries. You are not alone, you are not condemned and you are not without hope.
* How do you get help, you wonder?
What exactly does that number in the corner do? You pick up a phone, you dial that number and a voice is going to come on the line. This voice is not going to be judging you; this voice is going to help you. It will ask you some questions, not to judge but again, to help. It will be gathering information to get you the best type of help for your particular addiction as there is so many (which proves again you are not alone). The voice will help you take the steps needed to return to a life without addiction, without the shadows, without the isolation.
* Make the call, you wont regret it!
We are waiting to help you and you deserve that help so much more than you know. Those guilt feelings are part of the drug fighting to keep control. Be the warrior we know you are; pick up the phone and let us work together for Victory.
