Treatment for Cocaine Addicts

Cocaine addiction and its abuse are plaguing most countries.

Cocaine addiction treatment is highly complex since it involves a lot of changes that take place biologically in the addict’s brains along with changes in factors such as environmental, family, and social changes. Cocaine is consumed orally either through snorting it, through certain intervals or through inhaling the fumes by heating the substance (this is how crack is consumed).

Cocaine addiction takes a person through a high, although it is very short lived and the addict experiences depression and gets a bit edgy. Cocaine addicts do not sleep or eat well, have a heart rate that is highly increased, experience convulsions, and are mostly anxious and hostile. There are symptoms like, anger, paranoia, hostility, and anxiousness even in times when they haven’t consumed the drug. Those wanting to know more about cocaine addiction and the signs that someone is doing it can look out for these emotional symptoms.

Crack and cocaine addiction symptoms also have long term effects like mood disturbances, irritability, hallucinations, paranoia and restlessness. The addict gets used to a certain amount of drug and therefore gradually increases their intake to experience the same high. Some crack cocaine addiction symptoms are so intense, that the addict is bogged down into depression and at times will do anything to purchase the drug. The addict can even commit heinous crimes to get some crack or cocaine or can also be driven to commit suicide if nothing works out.
To stop being a drug addict the individual will have to be induced to check into a good drug rehab centre. There are different rehab centers within the country of Canada like the Alberta’s drug rehabs, Ontario’s drug rehabs and drug addiction rehab centers for Nova Scotia and other provinces.
Crack and cocaine addiction is deadly and very addictive, of these two crack is even more concentrated than cocaine. The number of addiction cases is only increasing and is a problem that does not look at the group of people, the class, creed etc. Family members of addicts need to be made aware of the crack and cocaine addiction symptoms, and signs of cocaine addiction. This can be gotten through any addiction helpline, and will only be a stepping stone to release the addict of this habit.
